NimbusBlocks

The idea

NimbusBlocks takes the classic falling-block puzzle and bends its world into a circle. Every traditional block puzzle is played on a square grid; NimbusBlocks topologically folds that grid into a ring — and the falling pieces are transformed the same way. The rules you already know are all here, but the round playfield turns them into a completely new experience.

• Familiar controls, re-imagined. Moving a piece left and right becomes moving it clockwise and counter-clockwise around the ring. Rotation still spins the piece around its own axis — but on the curved grid it looks different at every angle, a genuinely fresh test of your spatial intuition.
• No walls — the board is endless. A piece never slams into a left or right edge; it travels continuously around the circular grid, so there is always another way around.
• Gravity you control, in two directions. Choose Outward gravity — pieces fall from the center toward the rim and the outermost completed ring clears — or Inward gravity, where pieces fall from the rim toward the center and the innermost completed ring clears. Same piece, same grid, two opposite ways to think.
• Rotate the grid, not the piece. Board Rotation mode turns the same move buttons into grid controls — instead of the piece moving, the entire ring spins beneath it, a genuinely different way to line up your rings.

Complete a full ring of blocks and it disappears; let the stack reach the spawn point and the round ends. Simple to grasp, endlessly replayable.

Controls

NimbusBlocks is built touch-first, with both on-screen buttons and gestures.

• Move (outer buttons) — step the active piece one cell clockwise / counter-clockwise around the ring.
• Rotate (inner buttons) — rotate the active piece clockwise / counter-clockwise.
• Rotate the grid (Premium) — in Board Rotation mode, the same outer buttons and swipes rotate the whole grid instead of the piece.
• Down — soft-drop the piece one ring at a time; double-tap for an instant hard drop.
• Pause / Play / New — pause or resume the round, and start a fresh game when the previous one ends.
• Settings — open the settings panel (below).

Prefer gestures? Inside the playfield, swipe left or right to rotate, swipe up or down to move around the ring (the direction follows the side you swipe on, like turning a steering wheel), and double-tap to hard drop.

Settings

• Gravity Mode — tap to flip gravity between Outward and Inward. The current direction is shown by an indicator: Outward (center → rim) or Inward (rim → center).
• Spawn Mode — tap to choose how pieces are generated. The current mode is shown by an indicator: Random, Bag (a balanced 7-piece randomizer), or Fixed.
• Board Rotation — tap to switch the move buttons and swipes from moving the piece to rotating the whole grid instead.
• Ghost Piece — shows a preview of where the active piece will land.
• Hint — shows a preview of the next block that will spawn.
• Training — a beginner-friendly mode with only J/L pieces, pre-rotated for you, at half speed, to help new players learn the ropes.
• Sound — toggle sound effects on or off.
• Language — choose one of six interface languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Chinese, and Russian.
• Info — plays a short morphing animation that shows how the classic square grid transforms into NimbusBlocks' circular one, along with a brief overview of the game.

A calm, relaxing mode that's all our own

Fixed Spawn is a brand-new idea unique to NimbusBlocks. Instead of random pieces, you choose the exact sequence that keeps repeating — for example I, I, O. With a predictable set of blocks it becomes far easier to build clean rings and rack up points, turning NimbusBlocks into a low-pressure, meditative way to play and unwind.
