The idea
Two boards face each other: yours and your rival's. You fill yours with rock, paper and scissors cards from your hand, press FIGHT, and the boards are compared cell by cell: rock beats scissors, scissors beat paper, paper beats rock. Every cell you win takes the rival's card into your hand; every cell you lose costs you yours.
- Every rival has a character. They come with a different hand each battle but always lay it out their own way: row by row, corners first, the kind they hold most of first, or a copy of what you did last time. Before the battle you see their cards and a riddle about the character.
- Work them out. The dossier keeps what each rival laid out against you and what your last battle looked like. One meeting opens a clue, the next another; beat a rival and the character is written out in full.
- A run. A set of eight rivals in a new order every time. The board grows as you go: 3×3, then 4×4, then 5×5, and a bigger board needs more cards than a careless player will have.
- The cards are the prize. Nothing else: no timers, no accounts, no online play. A run is saved when you leave and continues when you return.
